Day 6 Southport NC to Greenville - Rocky Mount, NC

Today we left Southport North Carolina and headed north towards Greenville. Today's trip was based on lunch. We decided that we wanted to travel to Sam Jones BBQ in Greenville. We traveled three and a half hours to get there. Once we arrived we went over to check out the smokehouse. As we were looking in. We were invited to come inside and see what they were doing in there. It's pretty cool but it was actually really hot. They had just finished some chicken and they were working on hogs. After we were in the smokehouse we headed inside to order our lunch. I ordered that chopped pork platter became with two sides and I chose mac and cheese and homemade chips along with one bread and I picked the sweet potato muffin. I also tried the Sam Jones BBQ Cleaver beer. Jeff picked the 1 lb spare ribs along with homemade chips and a side salad as well as the sweet potato muffin. After lunch we decided to head north. We turned off the tolls and highways on the Google maps and we're able to venture through farm country pretty much the whole trip. It was actually really nice and it was cooler. We stopped in Halifax to fuel and decided to find a campground so we checked what was nearby and we headed towards the KOA Rocky Mount. Once we got here and got set up I went and took a shower and Jeff headed across the street to see what was planted in the farms fields across the street. He discovered cotton in one and peanuts in another. After I showered. Jeff showered and I did a load of laundry so we had fresh clothes for our trip. We sat down and figured out where we're going to go tomorrow but you'll have to wait and see where we're going. We traveled 252 mi today.
