We left today June 10th 2023 at 5:53am the temperature was only 52 degrees and it was chilly for a few hours then it was very comfortable. We stopped twice to fill up with mid-grade fuel twice for a total cost of $32. We stopped for lunch at the Welcome Center in North Carolina. Chicken salad sandwiches and some iced tea and we were headed towards our destination of Frisco. On our way we booked Frisco Campground in the Cape Hatteras National Seashore. Last site available for $28. We arrived at 3:30 pm 442 miles today. When we arrived we were told we were lucky to get the site as it was a Saturday and a last minute cancellation. We camped in Site D9. It was a nice site for our tent. We quickly put up our tent and then went to the shower house to take our cold showers. (Only cold showers but it was quite refreshing). Showers and bathroom were clean here. We put our swimsuits on grabbed our towels and walked to the beach. It was a bit of a walk down a boardwalk trail and then a pretty good hike over the dunes. It was beautiful and the water felt good. Lots of 4 wheel drive vehicles on the beach as there is a off road vehicle road that people can drive onto the beach. Lots of people swimming, fishing and enjoying the beach. Jeff took a nap on the beach. About 6pm we decided we should head back and get ready for dinner. We drove to Bruxton and had dinner at the Cock-eyed Clam for some casual dining.. Everything was very good. Our server Jordan was awesome. Then back to the campground to discuss our plans for tomorrow. We got ready for bed right away since the mosquitos came out. We decided we will go to Ocracoke Island tomorrow.
Food looks good. So does my brother eat raw clams?
