Today we left our cabin at Blue Bell Lodge in Custer State Park, SD at 6:30 am and took the Wildlife Loop of the Park. We enjoyed seeing Deer, rabbits and Buffalo along the way. Next we rode Needles Highway which is beautiful and has many switchbacks. Definitely worth taking, I am glad we didn’t miss it. Then we headed for the Badlands. The Badlands was quite a drive but also well worth the trip. The temperature soared once in the Badlands National Park the temperature got to 85 degrees. After leaving the Badlands we headed to Walls, SD and got to go the infamous Wall’s Drug Store. We left Walls and traveled to Ft. Pierre, SD where we are spending the night. We are exactly 1500 miles from home, so the next few days will be high travel days as we need to be home on Sunday.
