Today was an interesting day we traveled a total of 483 miles today. We headed out at 6:15 am stopping at Lions Pride for breakfast in Red Lion, PA at 7:09 am. As we ate breakfast we watched the sky open up. We went outside to bring our rain gear inside so we could prepare to ride in the rain. We stopped in Berkley Springs WV at Roy's Service Center to fuel up and we were able to finally remove our rain gear and enjoy some sunshine. We stopped for lunch at Biggies Drive in in Grafton, WV for lunch after refueling and then traveled some beautiful winding West Virginia roads only to be slowed down by a cold front meeting a warm front in Burnsville WV and experienced extreme winds so I appreciate the driving. As a passenger it scared me. We were able to pull over at a rest stop to change into our rain gear yet again just as the rain came down fast and furious. We sat in stand still traffic for over 1 1/2 hours today making the day much longer. Finally as we out ran the rain and ran low on fuel. We stopped at Baboursville, WV to fuel up and decided to get rooms at the Best Western Huntington Mall Inn. We walked across the parking lot and had a nice dinner and a few beverages at the Outback Steakhouse. Time to turn in for the evening and move on tomorrow. Today was also Carmen's Birthday. Happy Birthday Carmen!
