We started the day packing up our site in Frisco. Once we were packed and showered, we headed out toward the ferry stopping first to get ice for our cooler. It was 81 degrees when we left. The ferry to Ocracoke Island was leaving at 10:00 a.m. we arrived at about 9:30 and there were about 15 cars in front of us. The ferry is first come first serve and there was no charge. We met a couple from the UK visiting. They were in a Jeep behind us and they asked if they could put their grandson's teddy bear on our motorcycle and take a picture of it. We had good conversation with them. Their names were Ricky and Julia. The ferry ride from Hatteras was 70 minutes. We walked up to the passenger area of the ferry and sat in the air conditioning for a little while and before we knew it we were arriving into Ocracoke Island. Once we got off the ferry we headed towards Ocracoke to the Jerniman's Campground which is located in the town and within walking distance of pretty much everything. We got to the campground early and luckily people that were in our site prior were already gone and we were able to set up our camp right away. Once we get our campsite set up and ate lunch we decided to walk into town. We went into a couple shops. Didn't buy anything, just looked around. Then walk towards the water and sat at the bar at Smacnally's where we had strawberry pineapple mimosas. They were just okay. As we started to head back we got on the town trolley which is essentially a large golf cart that takes you to different stops in Ocracoke. Our driver was very informative and telling us different things about the island. We got off the trolley at 1718 brewery and got a flight and did a tasting. They had a good selection of different kinds of beers and we enjoyed it. Then went back to the campground. We decided to take showers and then get ready for dinner. We decided to go back to the brewery for dinner as they had a large crab hot pretzel which everyone seemed to rave about. We decided we wanted to try it and we did and it was worth the hype. While we were there, Ricky and Julia popped in. Jeff said we would see them on the island somewhere. After dinner we headed back to our campsite and then turned in for the night. Today was a low mileage day we traveled 22 mi on the motorcycle and 25.6 mi on the ferry.

Just Winging it
We love winging across the country on our Honda Gold Wing. Enjoy the ride.
Our names are Jeff and Judy Keller, we reside in Southern Lancaster County in Pennsylvania. We purchased our 2001 Honda Goldwing GL1800 in January 2014 on Craigslist. We have begun riding almost every day and WE LOVE IT! Since we are loving what we are doing we decided to start this Blog to document our journeys for others to enjoy along with us.
